Two boys under two years old creates for joyful, but chaotic, lifestyle. Thornton just passed the 2 year old mark and has started some pretty funny things (with his brother not far behind). I've come to the conclusion that I must have a way to capture these moments. Now that Holden is already 8 months, I realize even more that the months slip by so fast.
I've always been a person who journals, but personal time at home has become a rare commidity. In this new age of the digital revolution, it only makes sense to log our stories for our friends and family to see. My hope is to jot down some of the stats, stories, and silliness that makes our lives so much fun, and that the boys will have a record of things that happened in their younger years.

Our Parenting Philosophy
Above all, our goal is to raise the children to be loving and respectful, and have a passion for living! We don’t pretend to know how to be the best parents; we are making it up every day! Every day we learn new things, and we know you will too. No one is perfect; the point is to do your best with love in your heart.
We think the best way to raise the children at this age is to stick to a general schedule, allow for some flexibility, keep them active, and be consistent with discipline. We’re relatively laid back parents allowing “boys to be boys.” This means allowing rough and tumble play, climbing, playing with sticks, loud noises, etc. However, we do not tolerate any malicious violence to others (hitting, biting, etc). The boys should be respectful when speaking to adults and should be helpful. We focus on the positive, giving lots of encouragement, hugs, and positive reinforcement when things are going well. We also make sure the boys are encouraging each other when they do something well. You can never give too many hugs and kisses at our house.
